Enrolment Policies and Class Information

with Kylie and Jill

Enrolment is taken on a first come, first served basis.
We must receive your enrolment form and a non-refundable deposit before your enrolment will be confirmed.
* Please note that places will not be automatically reserved from one term/semester to the next.

Choosing a Class

Age recommendations for each Kindermusik class are made to ensure that children are grouped in a developmentally appropriate way. Your child needs to be at least the minimum age for the chosen class by the start of the semester. We are more than happy to discuss your child’s needs if you believe he or she would be better suited to a different age group.

Early Enrolment

As places are limited, it is essential to enrol early to reserve a place in the class of your choice and to ensure that your child’s At Home Materials (AHMs) are available at the first class. We offer generous discounts for those who enrol early and pay their fees in full before the semester commences. (Please refer to our website/current enrolment form for discount prices & dates) If you enrol after the semester begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.

Enrolment Confirmation

We MUST receive your enrolment form AND a non-refundable deposit (as stated on the website/enrolment form) before your place will be confirmed. We MUST receive your enrolment form AND a non-refundable deposit (as stated on the website/enrolment form) before your place will be confirmed.

  • You will then receive a welcome email before classes commence, confirming your enrolment.
  • Home materials will be ordered when you enrol and we receive your deposit. They will not always be available at your first class.
  • For existing clients who wish to re-enrol, a deposit (or full payment with discount price) and re-enrolment details will be required before the end of the current term/semester in order to ensure a place in your chosen class for the following term/semester.
  • We DO NOT assume that clients will automatically return from one term/semester to the next, and therefore it is essential that you notify us of your intentions before the end of the term/semester. We cannot be held responsible for current clients who miss out because they have not communicated their intentions clearly.

Non-enrolled Siblings

Siblings may be accepted into classes on a case-by-case basis.

  • Due to the nature of the Village and Our Time classes, it is important that you attempt to spend the lesson with your enrolled child only.
  • We can accommodate non-enrolled younger siblings (Our Time classes) at no extra cost if they can remain content in a baby capsule or pram without frequent attention. Once the sibling reaches 6 months of age, you will be required to pay $5 per lesson attended. This is to account for the fact that a baby at this age will be an active participant in the lesson and interacting with both the students and educator.
  • We do make one-off allowances in the instance that an older sibling is required to attend, however this must be discussed with Kylie or Jill prior to the commencement of the lesson.

Refunds

  • Deposits are required to confirm a place in the class of your choice. These are non-refundable.
  • At Home Materials can not be refunded once received.
  • Once you have paid your fees for the semester, no refunds will be given. However if unforseen or extenuating circumstances arise requiring withdrawal from lessons, a credit voucher may be given toward future Kindermusik lessons.

Missed Classes

  • Refunds are not given for missed classes. Classes can be made up if there is room at a different class time, however, this must be arranged before the end of the term/semester.
  • Classes missed due to teacher absence or public holidays will be rescheduled.
  • We remind you that Kindermusik is a commitment for the class that you have enrolled in. By enrolling, you are reserving a place for your child in a specific class on a specific day.

Class Time

  • Aim to arrive about five minutes before class so your child can settle in. Please leave shoes at the back of the room (adults too, please!).
  • Please do not bring toys, food or drink into classes and please switch your mobile phones off.
  • During class, it is important for you to be an active and patient role model for your child. It usually takes a few weeks for children to feel comfortable in their new environment, so don’t worry if your child wanders around during class. Gently help your child participate actively - if you participate enthusiastically, your child will model your actions and focus better too.
  • Please try not to talk with other adults during class - you are most welcome to chat before and after class.
  • If your child becomes disruptive during class, please take them outside to calm them down. This helps reduce disruption to the rest of the class, and often helps your child to learn appropriate behaviour.

At Home Materials

The classes you attend each week are only the first step in your child’s musical learning experience. Specially developed, high quality home materials are provided to you as an integral part of the program and should be used regularly to consolidate and extend on class activities. This also gives other members of your family the chance to share the Kindermusik experience. You may notice that your child seems completely different when experiencing Kindermusik activities at home. This is due to the social nature of your class, where your child interacts with others. Children who frequently reinforce and enjoy activities in their home environment will feel more secure and comfortable in class and will participate more.

Thank you for choosing the Kindermusik © experience to enrich your child’s life.
